Does snow cone syrup go bad?

You've got your snow cone shop all set up. You have your snow cone machine, your paper snow cone cups, your signage, and of course, all your flavored syrups. But you might be wondering, what is the shelf life of all of my snow cone syrups? If this flavor doesn't sell, will it go bad?

We are obviously big fans of ready-to-use snow cone syrups. They're convenient - just pour and go!

All of our ready-to-use snow cone syrups last for one to two years. We recommend that you use your syrups within that time frame. Not necessarily because they will go bad, but because over time the flavor may change and not taste as good as a fresh bottle of syrup.

To maximize the shelf life of your ready to use snow cone syrups, we suggest keeping it at room temperature and out of direct sunlight. The syrups do not need to be refrigerated./p>

If you run a snow cone business and your syrups have exceeded the "best if used by" date, we recommend a sniff test and a taste test to ensure quality taste and flavor for your customers.

Some of our customers prefer to mix their own syrups from concentrate.

These syrups will only last for seven to ten days, unless you add preservatives like sodium benzoate and citric acid. With preservatives added in, the syrup made from concentrate will have an extended shelf life of over six months.
